Women's XC Wins National Championship
Donegan, Wiebelt, and Clements are All-American.
We are thrilled to congratulate the women on winning the 2015 NJCAA Division III XC National Championship and the men for placing fifth – it was a proud day for Suffolk!!
Battling for points and glory were, for the women, Ryleigh Donegan (5th), Leana Wiebelt (6th), Kayla Clements (11th), Menely Genao (19th), Ashlee Rommeney (37th), Bridget Reiffert (56th), and Stacey Sinkoff (73rd), and, for the men, Christopher Swenson (4th), Ryan Evans (13th), Matthew Mintzer (58th), Greg Rachman (63rd), and Ethan Carpenter (89th).
5 All-Americans were honored, including, on the men's side, Swenson (1st Team) and Evans (Honorable Mention), and, for the women, Donegan (First Team), Wiebelt (2nd Team), and Clements (Honorable Mention).
Sharing in this victory, but unable to join us at the championship, were teammates Theresa DeFilippo, Nora DiMaria, Kristen Starke, and Haley Entenmann, who we know would've all raced if more than seven were allowed to.
We are thankful also for all the families, friends, teammates, and coaches who came all the way up to Westfield, Massachusetts to support us! That helped a lot and will always be appreciated!!!
