Majestic Temple Qualifies in Decathlon at Cortland Classic
Holguin qualifies in pole vault; Epps (pictured) wins high jump.
Sophomore Kathleen Costello broke the school record with a PR in the heptathlon of 3522 points, hitting a personal best in the 200m dash and shot put and qualifying for nationals in the long jump (4.92 meters). Majestic Temple earned a decathlon score of 4932, hitting a PR in the long jump (6.54 meters) and the high jump (1.85 meters). Temple's long jump qualified him for the national meet in May.
In the individual events, Zack Holguin qualified for the national meet in the pole vault with a PR of 3.90 meters. Maurice Epps won the high jump, and qualified for nationals in the long jump (6.34 meters). Michael Kehrer set a new PR in the discus with a toss of 41.21 meters.
On the women's side, Nicole Catanzaro qualified for nationals in the long jump with a jump of 4.75 meters. Sam Sledge ran season best in the 100 hurdles (16.33).
