Suffolk's freshmen swept the jumps and the 110 hurdles at the USMMA Coach O Invitational. Undefeated for the season, Micah Assibey-Bonsu won the triple jump with a jump of14.33m (47'0.25") and teammate Malik Hinds placed second. Malik also won the men's long jump with a season best of 6.69m (21'11.5"). Cordell Nix won the men's high jump with a personal best of 2.00m (6'6.75"). Connor Langdon placed second. Connor Langdon also won the 110m hurdles in 15.12 seconds for a collegiate PR. Decathlete Jesse Mattera had a big day in the throws, placing third in the javelin with a huge PR of 49.06m (160'11"). For the women, freshman high jumper Bethany Cruz placed second in the high jump with a jump of 1.50m (4'11").
Freshmen sprinters Samantha Pollucci and Tasmere Lee hit personal best times in both the 100 and 200, with Samantha winning the 100m race with a time of 12.58, and 26.42 in the 200m race, and Tasmere running 12.62 in the 100m and 26.38 in the 200m races. In the 400m race, freshmen sprinter Ashley Mack ran a season-best time of 1:01.66, and freshmen sprinter Lauren Bullock ran her season-best time of 1:02.65. Freshmen hurdlers Chloe Russell and Rachel Grupp continued to improve their times in the 100m hurdles, and the 4x100m relay took second-place with a time of 50.31.
